JOB TITLE: Manager, SolidWorks Drawings
LOCATION: Waltham, Ma
Applicant will manage and lead team of C++ Computer Aided Design development group responsible for designing and implementing new user functionality in the detailing and drawing portion of the SolidWorks Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings application development group within the Research and Development division. Develop plans for new versions of SolidWorks Drawings package, work closely with Product Definition, QA and other team members in SolidWorks R&D division for delivering new software solutions or eliminating limitations which prevent the successful use of SolidWorks mechanical design software. Provide design input in user interface, geometric modeling and geometric utilities aspects of codes. Responsible for removing limitations or to extend system capabilities in the area of CAD Detailing and Drawings. Assess and prioritize bugs reported from existing SolidWorks customers, work with product definition, technical support and quality assurance teams within the company and provide technical guidance to team members for fixing the bugs. Design, prototype and plan development of features and functionality in future release in the 2D Drawings area of the SolidWorks Product. Provide technical oversight and guidance to Drawings Development team members. Responsible for delivery of all projects in SolidWorks CAD Detailing and Drawings. Provide programming capabilities as well as understanding of complex CAD architecture.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related plus five years of experience in the position offered or five years of experience as a Technical Leader/Sr. Software Engineer. Demonstrated experience with CAD (or Solid Modeling) programming, Win32 API (or Windows Programming), MFC, VC++, Mechanical drawings. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related plus seven years of experience will be accepted in lieu of the Master’s plus five requirement.
